01D - DONATION BIN IMPOUNDMENT REF [156.052(L,)] Removal and impoundment by Metro Government. In the event that any licensee or person fails to comply with an order or citation issued pursuant to this 156.052(J) and fails to timely appeal the citation as set forth in 156.808, the Director, or an independent contractor retained by the Director, is hereby authorized to remove the donation drop-off bin. What is a code enforcement case?
A code enforcement case is opened when a Metro inspector finds a property out of compliance with a local property maintenance ordinance — things like exterior storage, uncut grass, or exterior structural upkeep.
Louisville Metro Codes & Regulations opens and manages the case. No board or hearing is required to open one.
The property owner is notified and given a chance to correct the violation. An inspector re-checks the property; the case closes once the violation is corrected and confirmed.
An open case is not a citation or a fine by itself, and it does not mean a court has found the property owner at fault. It records that a violation was observed and is being tracked to correction.
