02A - CLEANING [156.052-D/156.055-A/156.052-K] {156.052-D}.....All premises shall be maintained free from weeds or plant growth in excess of ten inches. All noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Any land of more than three acres that abut another parcel which contains a dwelling or commercial building thereon shall be weed free at least 50 feet from the property line or 200 feet from an occupied structure, or {156.055-A} All exterior property and premises, and the interior of every structure, shall be free from any accumulation of rubbish or garbage, or {156.52-I} No person shall willfully or wantonly damage, mutilate or deface any exterior surface by placing thereon any marking, carving or graffiti. It shall be the responsibility of the owner to restore said surface.What is a code enforcement case?
A code enforcement case is opened when a Metro inspector finds a property out of compliance with a local property maintenance ordinance — things like exterior storage, uncut grass, or exterior structural upkeep.
Louisville Metro Codes & Regulations opens and manages the case. No board or hearing is required to open one.
The property owner is notified and given a chance to correct the violation. An inspector re-checks the property; the case closes once the violation is corrected and confirmed.
An open case is not a citation or a fine by itself, and it does not mean a court has found the property owner at fault. It records that a violation was observed and is being tracked to correction.
