Metro Council

Ordinance O-100-26

What is a council agenda item?

A council agenda item is a matter — legislation, a resolution, an appointment, or a similar item — placed on a Metro Council or committee agenda for consideration.

The relevant Metro Council committee reviews the item first; final action is taken by the full Metro Council.

An item can be discussed, amended, held, or voted on at the scheduled meeting; a matter often needs more than one reading before a final vote.

An item's presence on an agenda is not a vote or an outcome — the agenda only records that the matter is scheduled for consideration.
